Golden Eagle Moccasins

GEMS

These moccasins are also a tribute to the generations who came before us. Long before modern footwear companies existed, Indigenous peoples and other traditional cultures understood how to create footwear that worked with the body rather than against it. They crafted shoes from the materials provided by the land, building them to be durable, practical, and deeply connected to the natural world.

As a Lumbee creator, I believe there is wisdom in remembering the old ways. While these moccasins are made for modern life, they are inspired by traditions that valued craftsmanship, self-reliance, and a close relationship with nature. Every pair represents more than comfort and function—it represents a return to skills, knowledge, and values that have stood the test of time.

When you wear these moccasins, you are not simply putting on a pair of shoes. You are taking a step toward a more natural way of living, honoring the connection between your body, the earth beneath your feet, and the generations whose wisdom helped shape the path we walk today.

Our feet are one of the most important parts of the human body, yet they are often the most neglected. They carry us through life, support our entire body weight, and absorb thousands of steps every day.

Many people spend their lives wearing shoes that are too narrow, elevate the heel unnaturally, or restrict the natural movement of the foot. Over time, this can contribute to weak foot muscles, poor posture, and discomfort that may affect the knees, hips, and back.

The human foot is an incredible piece of natural engineering. It was designed to be strong, flexible, and resilient. Unfortunately, modern lifestyles have disconnected many of us from the way our bodies were meant to move, leaving our feet weaker than those of our ancestors.

My mission is simple: to help people reconnect with nature, restore the strength of their feet, and rediscover the wisdom that previous generations understood intuitively.

In a perfect world, we would spend more time barefoot, allowing our feet to move and function as they were designed to. However, modern environments are filled with concrete, asphalt, and other surfaces that often make barefoot living impractical.

That is where these moccasins come in.

The Golden Eagle Moccasins combine the principles of barefoot movement with the durability and craftsmanship of traditional Indigenous-inspired footwear. Designed to allow your feet to move naturally while still providing protection from the modern world, they offer a balance between freedom and function.

Each pair is handcrafted and custom-built to fit your unique feet. Made primarily from premium natural leathers—including bullhide, elk hide, and buffalo hide—these moccasins are built for strength, comfort, and longevity.

These are more than just shoes. They are a return to natural movement, traditional craftsmanship, and a healthier relationship with your body.

For those who value foot health, self-reliance, and living closer to nature, the Golden Eagle Moccasins are made for you.

As for now, I will be using this portion of my website to take orders. I am still working on creating my "Golden Eagle Moccasins" website and all of the logistics.

Material

The base of your moccasins will be made from Buffalo (also known as American Bison)

Buffalo/Bison offer a much stronger support and long lasting material that breaths well and is very water resistant.

Upon request, I can also make your base out of Elk (which is my second choice) or Bull hide (which is my 3rd choice)

Elk is thinner than the buffalo and won't last as long but is much softer and has a more traditional look.

Bullhide is almost as strong as buffalo but doesn't stretch and breath as well.

The pattern or design can be any color or material that you.

Buffalo, Elk, Bull, or even Deer.

A lot of patterns are made with deer. Deer hide is much thinner, easier for designs and has many more colors to choose from as well.

At the end of the day, these moccasins are yours and you can design them however you want.

Below, choose your colors

*Base color

*Design color

*Any additional colors you'd like

*lace color which will be made from Buffalo hide

I currently have

Creme Elk (Right)

Buttons

Decide on how many buttons you want on each moccasin.

The amount of buttons will determin how high or low you want the moccasin to come up your leg.

2 buttons - 5"

3 buttons - 7"

4 buttons - 9"

5 buttons - 11"

6 buttons - 13"

7 buttons - 15"

(7 buttons will be about just under your knee)

The pictures on my black moccasins are 3 button or 7"

As of right now, I don't have any buttons so just look online and decide on the buttons that you want and I can order them for you.

Toe cap and Heel cap

If you want a toe cap or a heel cap, I can do that for you.

The heel or toe cap does not change the strength of the moccasins - they are purely esthetic.

Here are two refrence photos of heel and toe cap vs no heel cap or toe cap.

(Pictures are from my mentors page - Sodhoppers moccasins)

Soles

The soles that I have on my moccasins are called "Goop" soles which give you a more traditional barefoot look (and feels more like barefoot shoes)

Goop soles is what I recommend as I am very big into barefoot shoes and believe that barefoot shoes are very good for your feet and overall health but again... these are your shoes and I can make them however you want...

If there is a specific sole you want, let me know and I can order them for you.

Boot soles, Vibram soles, Heels or whatever you would like.

Design

As far as idea's for your moccasins, the possibilities are endless and I can do almost anything that you want. Let me know and I will tell you if i cannot do it.

Your moccasins can have the same design on each foot or you can have different designs.
